How to use the CasparCG Config Generator #

Fill in the base settings and at least one channel, and the tool builds a complete casparcg.config XML file as you go — no need to hit a button, the Config box at the bottom always reflects whatever is currently set in the panel above it.

  1. Set the base settings — where CasparCG should look for media and templates, and which ports it should listen on.
  2. Switch between channels using the tabs, and enable whichever outputs a channel needs: Decklink, NDI, system audio and/or screen. Each toggle reveals its own options once switched on.
  3. Add extra channels or OSC clients with the + and Add OSC client buttons.
  4. Copy the generated XML from the Config box into your casparcg.config file.

Tip: you can also paste an existing config straight into the Config box — the tool parses it and updates the whole panel above to match, so you can load a config, tweak a setting visually, and copy the result back out.

Hover the small ? next to any label for a short explanation of what that setting does.

A note on Decklink device numbers

The <device> number CasparCG uses for a Decklink consumer depends on how many devices came before it and whether external keying is involved — this tool guesses a reasonable numbering based on channel order, but always cross-check the numbers against Decklink's own device list before using the generated config on a live system.
